The 2023 Carneros Chardonnay draws from Far Niente's Grand Sky Vineyard, a cool estate site at the Napa-Sonoma boundary where Pacific fog and afternoon breezes extend the growing season well beyond anywhere further inland.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDelos skips malolactic fermentation entirely — unusual in California at this price — preserving the bright, lifted acidity that structures the whole wine. French oak is used for fermentation but none of it is new, so the oak is textural and supportive rather than the point.
