Gosling Brothers has been blending rum in Hamilton, Bermuda since 1806 — family-owned across seven generations, making it one of the oldest continuously operating spirits businesses in the Western Hemisphere. Black Seal is their flagship: a proprietary blend of pot-distilled Caribbean rums aged 3–6 years in re-charred American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then blended on the island with molasses to lock in the depth and color the label has maintained for decades.

The Dark ‘N’ Stormy is a registered Goslings trademark — they hold the intellectual property to the cocktail recipe itself, making Black Seal the only spirit legally authorized to carry the name. The Beverage Tasting Institute rated it 96 points Platinum, Best Buy. Two ounces over ginger beer with a lime wedge is the place to start.
