Tony Söllner and his wife Daniela follow the biodynamic mantra and have done so since 1995. The terroir is quite unique in that they’re situated just east of the Kamptal, overlooking the Danube Valley. The wine exhibits earthy notes, expressive minerality, a balance of red fruits, and all around character.

This remarkably fresh, refined Riesling from Franz Hirtzberger (one of the most important producers in the Wachau Valley) is solidly medium-bodied, and fruity but clean -- with lots of fleshy white and tropical fruit alongside flinty mineral notes, sweet honey and spice, and lively acidity.

Named after the deep red hue of the iron-rich sandstone soils at Schödl’s plot in the town of Blumenthal, ‘Rote Erte’ (literally, “red soil”) is a tart, bone dry Riesling that teeters between beautiful citrus fruit and textured savory notes. Berries undergo a few hours of skin contact to extract flavor before gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel; wine is aged on fine lees for ~3 months before bottling.
