Weingut Geyerhof has farmed the hillsides of Oberfucha in the Kremstal organically since 1988 — among the first in Austria — and added Demeter biodynamic certification in 2019. The estate dates to the 12th century and the Maier family has made wine here for 14 generations. Ilse Maier and her son Josef run it today alongside the cattle, draft horses, chickens, and bees that make this a working holistic farm.
StockWerk is their Heuriger wine — built for the table, made to be drunk slightly chilled. It comes from younger vines on cooler, granite and gravel soils at the north-east end of the estate, buffered by forest and grazing land. Whole-cluster pressed, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, no oak, gentle filtration, screwcap.
