Old Forester 1924 is the fifth expression in the Whiskey Row Series and the most limited: a 10-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon made on a mashbill unique to this release (79% corn, 11% rye, 10% malted barley, vs. 72/18/10 for standard Old Forester). Less rye means less of the brand's characteristic spice; more corn pulls the profile toward dark sweetness.

Ten years in heat-cycled warehouses at the Brown-Forman Shively Distillery, bottled at 100 proof. The extended time in wood delivers mature caramel and dark cherry character with oak that leans juicy rather than drying; the banana note typical of younger Old Forester expressions is largely aged out.

The release commemorates 1924, when Old Forester, operating under Prohibition medicinal license P-3, acquired barrels from shuttered distilleries with different mashbills and bottled them as Old Forester. One of only six distilleries legally allowed to produce during Prohibition, Old Forester has been in continuous production since 1870.
