Distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, Lot "B" is the Van Winkle family's 12-year expression, aged in new charred American oak and bottled at 90.4 proof. The wheated mash bill, swapping rye for soft winter wheat, is the same recipe Pappy Van Winkle ran at Stitzel-Weller starting in 1935 and the foundation of the smoothest bourbons in America.

The nose opens with dried mango, cocoa, and spiced peach. On the palate: caramel, toffee, a dusting of nutmeg, chewy oak, and a hint of tobacco. The finish is long, balanced, and dry, with baking spice and dark cherry. F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal awarded it 98 points and 5 Stars; the 2018 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition named it Best Bourbon.
