Alois Lageder is one of the pioneering biodynamic estates of the Alps, farming 50 hectares in Alto Adige under Demeter certification since 2010. The Terra Alpina Pinot Grigio draws from vineyards at 220–350 meters elevation on dolomitic limestone and volcanic porphyry — a combination that drives pronounced minerality and naturally high acidity. Fermented in stainless steel, aged on the lees for several months before bottling to add texture.
The nose opens with white peach, lemon zest, and fresh almond. The palate is medium-bodied with a characteristic mineral edge, creamy lees texture, and a clean, focused finish. This is Alto Adige Pinot Grigio at its most precise — a world apart from the neutral, bulk category it shares a name with. Demeter biodynamic certification is the rare credential in this price range.
