ARGENTINA : MENDOZA : VALLE DE UCO

BIODYNAMIC : Malbec

MED-BODIED, CRANBERRY, PLUM, THYME, ROSEMARY, NO OAK

From Cuartel 6 at Finca El Cepillo in San Carlos, the southernmost and highest district of the Valle de Uco. Winemaker Matías Ciciani singled out this block for its unusually fresh, acid-driven profile — tighter and more aromatic than the rest of the estate — and built the 1884 Single Vineyard line around it.

No barrel contact at any stage. Eight months in stainless steel, eight months in bottle. The goal is transparency: the 2023 harvest came early, yields were down, and the result is concentration without weight.

The bodega dates to 1884, making it one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in Mendoza and the first in Argentina to bottle a varietal Malbec. Certified biodynamic across all 60-plus hectares.

PAIRINGS :

Asado-style lamb chops the classic Mendoza match — fresh tannins and acidity cut through the fat
Mushroom-stuffed empanadas earthy filling echoes the herbal, rosemary edge
