Quinta das Arcas has been farming organically in Minho for over a decade, and Explosivo is the label's most direct argument for Vinho Verde's overlooked reds. Made from Sezão — a thick-skinned indigenous grape that ripens early and throws deep color — via carbonic maceration and stainless steel, it's the style the region has been making for centuries, just packaged for a market that's recently started paying attention.
The 11% ABV is the point, not a compromise. The light CO2 trace — retained from minimal-intervention winemaking — lands somewhere between a still red and a pét-nat; drier and more herbal than Lambrusco, equally easy to drink cold. The liter bottle was not an accident.
