Broc Cellars’ 2024 La Boutanche marks a pivot — after years farming Fox Hill Vineyard in Mendocino, Chris Brockway has built this blend around the site’s Sangiovese, which now anchors 50% of the bottle. The concept is a collaboration with Selection Massale: rotating winemakers, one-liter format, table-ready prices.
All grapes fermented whole-cluster with native yeasts; a portion went through carbonic maceration for that signature brightness. Nine months in concrete and neutral barrique — nothing to add, nothing to hide behind.
PAIRINGS :
| Wood-fired mushroom pizza | earthy tones mirror the wine; acidity cuts through cheese and crust |
| Charcuterie and cured meats | Sangiovese’s natural affinity for salumi; carbonic fruit brightens the fat |
| Herb-roasted lamb | light tannin and ripe fruit hold up to savory herb-forward preparations |
