Broc Cellars makes this Rosato in the image of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo — the Italian style that walks the line between dark rosé and light red — using Montepulciano and Sangiovese from Fox Hill, their certified organic estate vineyard on the Talmage Benchland above the Russian River in Mendocino County.
The winemaking is minimal: foot-stomped at harvest, pressed into stainless steel, and fermented with native yeasts, then left to settle for six months with no additions. The result is deeper in color and more tannic than a Provence-style rosé — something you'd pour alongside food rather than at the pool.
