Bordeaux AOC is the region's entry-level, catch-all appellation — the base wines drawn from vineyards outside the roughly 65 more specific appellations like Médoc or Saint-Émilion, built for near-term drinking rather than the cellar. Haut-Florin's Bordeaux Rouge leans on the full classic quartet — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec — rather than the usual Merlot-Cabernet pairing, giving it a little more structure and spice than a typical everyday Bordeaux. The 2020 vintage took Gold at the Concours des Féminalise, a competition judged entirely by a female tasting panel.
