Chateau La Fleur Plaisance Montagne-Saint-Emilion 2020 750ml
FRANCE : BORDEAUX : MONTAGNE-SAINT-ÉMILION
SUSTAINABLE : Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
FULL-BODIED, DARK CHERRY, RIPE PLUM, LICORICE, COCOA, NEUTRAL OAK
Château La Fleur Plaisance sits on Parsac, a privileged enclave north of Saint-Émilion village where clay-limestone soils hold moisture through hot summers and translate directly into fruit concentration. Stéphane Eresue — seventh generation — farms 12 hectares of 50-to-55-year-old vines under HVE 3 sustainable certification, harvesting mechanically and by hand.
The 2020 vintage across the Right Bank was defined by timely August rains after veraison, small, thick-skinned Merlot berries, and exceptional September sunshine at harvest. The result in the glass: polished tannins and dark-fruit depth without the heat-driven softness that marks lesser years.
PAIRINGS :
| Duck confit | the wine’s plum richness and fine tannin structure hold up to the fatty duck |
| Herb-crusted rack of lamb | classic Bordeaux pairing — the wine’s fruit and structure cut through the richness |
| Wild mushroom risotto | earthy cocoa and dark cherry notes mirror the umami depth of the mushrooms |
