Champagne Coutier Brut Rosé NV
Champagne Coutier Brut Rosé NV
FRANCE : CHAMPAGNE : AMBONNAY
ORGANIC : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
MED-BODIED, RED BERRY, BRIOCHE, CHALK MINERAL, NO OAK
From Ambonnay’s south-facing Grand Cru slopes, where the Coutier family has farmed since 1619, this rosé carries the character of one of Champagne’s most distinctive terroirs. The chalk beneath a thin layer of clay gives Ambonnay its signature tension — warmer than most of the Montagne de Reims, with a microclimate that builds ripeness without sacrificing freshness. Antoine Coutier’s grandfather was the first to plant Chardonnay in Ambonnay in 1948, a contrarian move that’s now central to the house style.
The rosé uses still red Pinot Noir for color and red-fruit depth; Chardonnay provides the lift and mineral precision. The result is a delicate salmon-colored Champagne with a fine, persistent mousse — expressive on the nose, precise on the finish.
PAIRINGS :
| Oysters on the half shell | chalky salinity mirrors the mineral edge of Ambonnay |
| Smoked salmon blini | brioche notes bridge smoke, cream, and red berry |
| Roast chicken with herbs | medium body and gentle Pinot structure carry through light poultry |
