In keeping with their mission to preserve and protect the purity of fruit of their wines, Domaine Hubert Lignier has long followed the gospel of “lutte raisonée (sensible combat) in their viticulture — for example, chemical pesticides are used only when necessary, and the vineyard is tilled so that no herbicides are used. ‘Regnard’ is a fresh, silken wine with intense minerality, marked tension, and now showing impressive restraint — the modest amount of new oak used is barely perceptible.
