FRANCE : LANGUEDOC : IGP COTEAUX DE BÉZIERS
SUSTAINABLE : Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault
LIGHT-BODIED, RASPBERRY, WILDFLOWERS, MINERAL, NO OAK
Domaine Preignes le Vieux sits on Roman ruins outside Vias, in the Hérault between Béziers and Agde — a 13th-century château surrounded by 250 hectares of Mediterranean vineyard, now in its fifth generation under Jérôme and Aurélie Vic. The Réserve Rosé draws from volcanic and clay-gravel soils, a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault with eight hours of cold maceration before fermentation at 16–18°C. Pearly pink, aromatic, and built for the table.
The 2024 vintage was a return to slower, cooler ripening in Languedoc — spring rains recharged the soils, September harvest preserved bright aromatics, and rosés from this year show the kind of fresh, mineral-edged fruit the region hasn't seen in several years.
PAIRINGS :
| Grilled sea bream with lemon and herbs | mineral freshness and light body make this the right match for delicate fish |
| Lobster rolls | the wine's roundness and raspberry fruit cut through the richness of butter and bread |
| Niçoise salad | ripe tomato, tuna, and olive oil call for something bright and slightly fruity — this delivers |
