Named for Lia Tolaini-Banville’s daughter Alicia — “ali” means wings in Italian — this is a Castelnuovo Berardenga Sangiovese blended from two clones: F9 for fruit intensity and CH-20 for structure, with a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented and aged in stainless steel for 10 months; a small fraction of the Cabernet rests in neutral oak before blending.
James Suckling 90 pts on the 2024: “crunchy berries layered with subtle spice and a cedar-like quality.” Vinous 88 pts agreed — calling it a great house wine and by-the-glass pour. It earns both assessments.
