Four generations of the Waldschütz family have farmed this stretch of Kamptal since 1849, and "Handwerk" — German for craft — is their name for the hand-selected bottlings pulled from the estate's best parcels along the loess-and-loam banks of the Kamp River. The Weingartenselektion designation means fruit chosen vineyard by vineyard rather than a single named Ried, giving this GV more weight and citrus-pith grip than the estate's everyday bottling without leaving the everyday price behind.
