Koenig is France's first kosher wine cellar — in operation since 1960, made under the supervision of the Beth-Din of Strasbourg in a region with more than 176 synagogues and one of the oldest Jewish wine traditions in Europe. Production today is handled by the Willy Gisselbrecht winery in Dambach-la-Ville, a family operation whose Alsatian roots go back centuries.
The Riesling is fermented cold in stainless steel and built for freshness — dry, precise, with none of the petrol character the variety develops with age. The 2023 vintage from Alsace was a strong one: warm enough to fill out the mid-palate, cool enough at night to keep the acidity clean and vivid. Certified Kosher for Passover, Mevushal.
