Marco Porello Camestri Roero Arneis DOCG 2021 750ml
ITALY : PIEMONTE : ROERO
SUSTAINABLE : Arneis
MED-BODIED, WHITE PEACH, FLORAL, SALINE MINERAL, CRISP ACIDITY, NO OAK
The Camestrì vineyard sits in the commune of Vezza d’Alba on calcareous, sandy soils with a south/east exposure — some of the best terrain in Roero for Arneis. Grapes are hand-harvested in early September, fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature for about 20 days, then kept on fine lees until bottling.
Marco Porello is a third-generation winemaker based in Canale who took over the family estate in 1994 after training at the Alba oenology school and working in Bordeaux and Chianti Classico. The estate farms without herbicides or pesticides and uses indigenous yeast across all wines.
PAIRINGS :
| Fritto misto di pesce | the mineral-saline character amplifies oceanic notes; the acidity cuts the oil cleanly |
| Pasta with herb or vegetable sauces | the wine’s freshness holds its own without competing with herb-forward preparations |
| Fresh and semi-mature cheese | the delicate fruitiness pairs with mild dairy without overpowering |
