Martin Texier 'La Rouvière' Blanc 2023 750ml
FRANCE : RHONE VALLEY : ARDECHE
ORGANIC : Roussanne, Clairette
MED-BODIED, PEAR, ALMOND, WHITE FLOWERS, NO OAK
Martin Texier is the son of Eric Texier, one of the Northern Rhône's best-known natural-wine producers, and struck out on his own in 2014 after a detour through economics, DJing, and wine retail in New York. La Rouvière comes off five hectares around Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban, farmed organically on granite, clay, and limestone — direct-pressed, settled, then fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel with no oak, and bottled the following spring. It's labeled Vin de France rather than an appellation, since the plots sit just outside the classic Northern Rhône AOC lines.
PAIRINGS :
| Roast chicken with herbes de Provence | roundness and freshness both play against poultry and herbs |
| Fresh goat cheese | a classic Rhône/Ardèche pairing — acidity cuts the tang |
| Grilled white fish with lemon | citrus and pear notes echo a simple squeeze of lemon |
