SOUTH AFRICA : WESTERN CAPE : SIMONSBERG-PAARL
Viognier
MED-BODIED, DRY, PEACH, SPICED PEAR, HONEYSUCKLE, ROSE, GINGER, USED OAK
With beautiful floral aromatics, ripe stone fruit flavors, and a creamy palate that’s lifted by a whiff of fresh acidity, it’s not hard to see why this complex, elegant — and yes, completely dry — 100% Viognier has earned itself somewhat of a cult following (just trust us on this one; we know Viognier can be divisive).
Grapes are picked slightly early for maximum freshness; the wine is naturally fermented and matured on the lees in 300L old French oak barrels for 9 months.
FARMING : Organic
PAIRING : Baked Brie with Apricot Jam
