Oregon Breeze Pinot Noir 2022 750ml
USA : OREGON : WILLAMETTE VALLEY
CONVENTIONAL : Pinot Noir
MED-BODIED, RASPBERRY, BLACK CHERRY, PLUM, VANILLA, OAK
The grapes come from Willamette Valley vineyards planted in decomposed granite — well-drained, rocky soils that concentrate flavor in the Dijon-clone vines rather than size. The Coast Range shields the valley from Pacific storms, and the long growing season runs warm days into cool nights through a dry autumn that builds acidity and structure.
2022 was a recovery vintage. A hard April frost pushed the season back by nearly three weeks — and then Oregon's warmest October on record stepped in, giving late-hang fruit the time it needed to reach full phenolic ripeness. The result is a wine with real structure and a cut of acidity that keeps the fruit honest.
After a two-day cold soak and gentle fermentation, aging in French oak picks up the vanilla and toffee notes that frame the red fruit without dominating it.
PAIRINGS :
| Grilled salmon | acidity cuts through the fat; red fruit echoes the char |
| Roasted chicken | round tannins and earthiness complement the savory skin and drippings |
| Grilled eggplant and peppers | cherry and plum provide a clean counterpoint to caramelized summer vegetables |
