MED-BODIED, MORELLO CHERRY, CRANBERRY, PEPPER & SMOKE, FRENCH OAK

Estate-grown on sandy loam over deep Wairau Valley gravel, vines planted 1990–95. Hunter’s are among Marlborough’s founding estates — certified sustainable, farming with a long-term view.

A portion of the fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in small open vats with twice-daily punchdowns; the balance machine-harvested and vinified in stainless. A percentage completes fermentation in new French oak, then the whole blend ages ten months in one- and two-year-old barriques. Light egg-white fining.
