Maison Pierre Sparr has been making wine in Beblenheim since 1680 — one of Alsace's oldest family houses, still independent, now certified organic. The AOC Alsace Riesling draws from 30-year-old vines on granitic and chalky-clay soils across the Haut-Rhin, fermented cold in stainless steel with no oak and no malolactic conversion.
The 2022 vintage was one of Alsace's driest on record — second-lowest harvest in decades. What the heat took in yield it returned in concentration. Wine Enthusiast scored it 89 points, Best Buy, noting integrated acidity and a fleur de sel note on the finish that reads as precision, not austerity.
