The Rivero González family has made wine in Parras, Coahuila, Mexico — the oldest wine-growing region in the Americas — for over 25 years. At their North Fork estate in Riverhead, winemaker Leo Mora harvests Merlot early to preserve acidity, then ferments it in stainless steel with no skin contact, producing a wine that is pale yellow rather than pink: less rosé, more blanc de noirs.

What’s in the glass is easy to like and hard to ignore. Peach, yellow cherry, and Bosc pear on the nose; plush and mouthfilling on the palate; a tingly, zippy, dry finish. RGNY holds certification through Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing — no herbicides, reduced-risk inputs, cover crops — and the farming shows in fruit that is clean, balanced, and unforced.
