Seehof Riesling Trocken 2024 750ml
GERMANY : RHEINHESSEN : WESTHOFEN
SUSTAINABLE : Riesling
LIGHT-MEDIUM BODIED, BONE DRY, SALTED GRAPEFRUIT, WHITE PEACH, LIME, SALINE MINERAL, NO OAK
Florian Fauth is the fifth generation at Weingut Seehof, farming 17 hectares in Westhofen — the same limestone and loam soils, and in some cases the same Grosse Lage vineyards, that make his brother-in-law Klaus-Peter Keller one of the most sought-after producers in Germany. His parcels touch three Grand Cru sites: Kirchspiel, Morstein, and Steingrube. The 2024 is a cool-year wine — slender, precise, and animated. Rheinhessen was largely spared from the brutal April frosts that hit the Mosel and Nahe, and the vintage delivered the shell-like salinity and featherweight citrus that Westhofen Riesling does well. Fermented and aged entirely in stainless; no oak, no additions — just the site.
PAIRINGS :
| Baked sea bass with lemongrass | citrus and salinity track with delicate white fish |
| Lime shrimp tacos | high acidity and no oak let the dish carry the spice |
| Fresh goat cheese | tangy, mineral, bone dry — a natural pairing |
