Serge Roh - Cave Les Ruinettes 'Dôle de Vétroz' 2021 750ml
SWITZERLAND : VALAIS : VÉTROZ
SUSTAINABLE : Gamay, Pinot Noir, Diolinoir
LIGHT-MED-BODIED, RASPBERRY, CHERRY, WILD HERBS, FRESH ACIDITY, NO OAK
Dôle is a uniquely Swiss red style: a legally recognized blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay originating in Valais, exclusive to this canton, and carrying real appellation prestige. Serge Roh's version adds 20% Diolinoir — a Swiss-bred crossing developed specifically to deepen Pinot Noir's color — bringing a quietly structural backbone to what is otherwise a wine built around freshness and Alpine precision.
The Roh family has farmed Vétroz for generations, their vines averaging 35 years old, planted on schist, glacial moraine, and alluvial galets — the rounded stones that absorb heat by day and release it at night. Stainless steel throughout: no oak, no reduction, just the village.
PAIRINGS :
| Roast chicken | bright acidity lifts the fat; a classic European table match |
| Wild mushroom risotto | earthy, herbal notes mirror the wine's forest floor character |
| Charcuterie and cured meats | a traditional Alpine pairing; Gamay fruit cuts through salt and fat |
