“Russian River Ranches” was originally created as a restaurant-exclusive Chardonnay, crafted to be versatile with food and consistently high quality year after year. Its popularity exploded, and it became one of the most requested Chardonnays in U.S. fine dining — helping shape the identity of California Chardonnay on wine lists across the country.

The name is the brand; the label reads Sonoma Coast. The 2024 pulls from all six Sonoma-Cutrer estate vineyards — The Cutrer, Les Pierres, Vine Hill, Owsley, Kent and Shiloh — plus a small group of growers, a spread that crosses the Russian River Valley into the wider Sonoma Coast. Hand-sorted, whole-cluster pressed, fermented 75% in French oak and 25% in tank with full malolactic, then nine months on the lees in barrels only 20% new. Lemon and pear stay in front; the oak stays in the background.
