Templeton's first Iowa-distilled release — grain-to-glass in Templeton, Iowa after years of sourcing from Indiana. 95% rye mash through Forsyths stills, entered at 118 proof into Char #4 Speyside Cooperage barrels, aged 6 years in a temperature-controlled warehouse, and bottled at cask strength without chill filtration.

Individual barrels vary meaningfully. Whiskeyfellow found dark chocolate, cherry cola, and orange peel with a 1:35 finish; Drinkhacker (Batch #2, 9.3/10) got honeycrisp apple, grapefruit, and black pepper. Both agree the price-to-proof proposition is hard to beat for a distillery-direct, single-barrel American rye.
