Union Wine Company launched Underwood in cans in 2013, before canned wine was commercially respectable. Ryan Harms, working out of Tualatin in the northern Willamette Valley, made the case that wine should be available wherever people want to drink it — at the trailhead, the concert, the tailgate, the campsite. The bet landed. Underwood is now among the most recognized canned wine brands in the country, and the rosé bubbles remain the flagship pour.
The base is 88% Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley fruit — Oregon's signature grape, not a generic rosé blend. Force-carbonated in stainless for a clean, approachable bead, off-dry at around 10 g/L RS: enough sweetness to round out the strawberry and grapefruit, not enough to be cloying.
