Weis Vineyards sits on Keuka Lake, where a German immigrant winemaker — the seventh generation of his family to make wine — found that the limestone and shale soils, lake-moderated temperatures, and cool nights felt just like home. Hans Peter Weis grew up on the Mosel and recognized the same mineral-driven terroir in the Finger Lakes when he arrived in 2006.
Semi-dry Riesling is the Finger Lakes' signature style: 22 g/L of residual sugar rounds the high natural acidity without tipping into sweetness, producing a wine that's both approachable on its own and nearly unbeatable with spiced or aromatic food. Named New York State Winery of the Year in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
