Amante 1530 comes from Il Palagio — a Tuscan estate that dates to 1530, long owned by Sting and Trudie Styler — and is produced at Pallini’s distillery in Rome, one of the city’s oldest. The recipe was developed by Riccardo Cotarella, the oenologist behind Il Palagio’s estate wines, built on eight botanicals, five declared: candied orange, oolong tea, ginger, honeysuckle, and baked apple.

At 15% ABV, it sits between Aperol (11%) and Campari (24%) — less sweet than the former, less aggressive than the latter. That positioning is the whole point: versatile enough to anchor a spritz, hold up in a tequila riff, or be poured neat over ice with a slice of Amalfi lemon without losing the plot.
