Made from a recipe dating to 1530 at the Il Palagio estate in Tuscany, Amante is a lower-proof Italian aperitivo in the tradition of Campari and Aperol — more citrus-forward, with oolong tea and ginger giving it a botanical complexity that extends beyond orange peel alone. At 15% ABV, it is lighter and more food-friendly than most amari. Works in a spritz over Prosecco or poured over ice with soda and a lemon twist.
