Getariako Txakolina is the white wine of the Basque coast — light, dry, and bottled with a little of its own fizz. The Errasti family's vineyards at Bodegas Zudugarai sit on rolling hills about 90 meters above sea level, most of them inside a natural park where herbicides are strictly forbidden, and all of the vineyard work, harvest included, is done by hand. Fermentation is native-yeast, in stainless steel, and the wine is bottled young to hold on to some of its natural CO₂ — the result is that barely-there prickle on the tongue that defines the style.

Pronounced ahn-cho-la, Antxiola takes its name from a fortified house in the nearby town of Orio, once part of the town walls and drawn on the label. Written records date the house to 1555; the Errasti family has been farming these vines for more than 40 years, and founded the winery in 1989, as the appellation took shape.
