Bodega Noemia de Patagonia A Lisa 2023 750mL
ARGENTINA : PATAGONIA : RÍO NEGRO
BIODYNAMIC : Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot
Medium-full bodied, BLACK CHERRY, PLUM, VIOLET, COCOA, NEUTRAL OAK
A Lisa is the entry-level label of Bodega Noemia de Patagonia, established in 2001 in the Mainqué sub-district of Río Negro by Anne Zanon and Hans Vinding-Diers. The estate vineyards — some of the oldest Malbec vines in Patagonia, planted 1932–1957 — are farmed biodynamically on sandy-alluvial soils that stress the vines and concentrate the fruit naturally. The 2023 blend is approximately 90% Malbec with Merlot and Petit Verdot from a mix of estate and sourced organic fruit.
Aged 10 months in used French oak, A Lisa shows restraint and freshness unusual for the category. The nose is lifted with aromas of black cherry, fresh plum, and violet. The palate is medium-full bodied with a silky texture, cocoa notes, and a savory, iron-tinged finish that sets it apart from Mendoza Malbec. A reference-point Patagonian wine.
PAIRINGS :
| Asado (Argentine Mixed Grill) | the natural pairing; charred beef, smoke, and Patagonian Malbec are inseparable |
| Lamb with Chimichurri | the herbal sauce bridges the wine's savory, earthy notes; iron and lamb are classic |
| Duck Breast with Cherries | red fruit in the wine echoes the sauce; violet notes lift the richness of the duck |
