Bojo do Luar is a collaboration between importer Savio Soares, viticulturist Antonio Sousa, and biodynamic consultant Fernando Paiva — three people building something genuinely thoughtful from parcels near the Tâmega River in southeastern Vinho Verde. The vines are 20 years old on deep granitic soils; the grape is 100% Espadeiro, a native variety producing vivid red fruit, bright acidity, and light silky tannins — as cheerful as the pup on its label (modeled after the real life "Duplo," of course).
Grapes are foot-stomped and fermented spontaneously in century-old clay talhas with ground chestnut flowers added as a natural stabilizer — an old-world technique that keeps sulfur nearly off the table. About a month of maceration, then stainless steel to rest. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal SO2.
