Only the second rye Booker's has ever bottled — the first was 2016's Big Time Batch — and the third release of The Reserves, the annual series the brand started in 2024 to honor Booker Noe. Master distiller Freddie Noe, Booker's grandson, built it on his grandfather's holiday A.B.C. Wassail, an apple wine made with apples, bourbon barrels and cinnamon.

The rye finishes in apple brandy barrels, picks up cinnamon sticks along the way, and goes into the bottle the Booker's way: uncut and unfiltered, at 6 years, 2 months and 23 days. The brand's notes run bright apple and seasoned oak on the nose, then charred oak, vanilla and caramel, with a warm apple-pie finish.

This is a finished and infused whiskey, not a straight Booker's batch, and the recipe drew plenty of skepticism when the label surfaced in February. What you're buying is a Booker's rye — rarer in this lineup than any bourbon batch — with a seasonal twist the brand shipped exactly as announced.
