The wheated bourbon of Buffalo Trace's three kosher whiskeys — wheat takes the place of rye as the secondary grain, and the distillery's own note is subtle sweetness, fruit and vanilla. It is made under the supervision of the Chicago Rabbinical Council for cRc kosher certification and aged in barrels set aside only for kosher spirits. Buffalo Trace doesn't publish the mash percentages.

The barrels were bought new in 2012 and, under cRc oversight, sold to a non-Jewish Buffalo Trace executive so the whiskey would never be in Jewish ownership over Passover; the bottling lines are flushed before it goes into glass. It is kosher, but not kosher for Passover, which is why it ships once a year, after the holiday. Limited, and it doesn't sit long.
