A Napa institution since 1973, Cakebread draws primarily from estate blocks in cool-climate Carneros, where fog and bay breezes extend hang time without sacrificing freshness. Riper lots from Oak Knoll round out the blend.

Whole-cluster pressed, barrel fermented, eight months on the lees with biweekly stirring — 32% new French oak and just 13% malolactic keep the freshness at the center where it belongs. The 2022 white wine harvest came in mid-August, before the season's heat challenges, and Napa Chardonnay from this vintage carries exactly the concentration and acidity critics expected.
