Marcel is the entry-level bottling from Château du Cèdre, the benchmark estate of the Lot Valley and one of Southwest France's most committed organic producers. Named for winemaker Pascal Verhaeghe's son, the wine is made from estate-grown Malbec farmed under Ecocert-certified organic protocols since 2012. The grapes are destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and aged 6–8 months in concrete — no oak — to preserve the grape's natural fruit character.
Inky purple in the glass with an inviting nose of fresh plum, crushed red cherry, dried herbs, and a hint of earthy spice. The palate is full-bodied with supple tannins, bright acidity, and a clean, fruit-forward finish. A reference-point for everyday Southwest France Malbec from a producer whose serious label (Le Cèdre) commands multiples of this price.
