Chicken Cock is a Kentucky bourbon brand with roots going back to 1856, when James A. Miller opened his distillery in Paris, Bourbon County. The brand disappeared during Prohibition — bottles were smuggled across the Canadian border in tins, which is exactly what the annual Tin Release commemorates. Matti Anttila discovered the brand at the Oscar Getz Museum of American Whiskey in Bardstown in 2011 and revived it through a collaborative distillation program with Bardstown Bourbon Company under Master Distiller Gregg Snyder.

The Mizunara Finish is the 4th edition of this annual limited release. After reaching minimum four years in American oak on a 70/21/9 corn-rye-malt mash bill, selected barrels were transferred into first-use Mizunara Japanese Oak casks — wood that takes 200 years to reach harvest size and produces a profile American oak can't touch: sandalwood, incense, a warmth that settles slowly into cherry and clove. Chicken Cock's limited annual tin release (4th edition). Only 10 barrels produced.
