Daphne Glorian was 27 when she spent her life savings on 17 terraces of vines outside Gratallops — in 1988, alongside René Barbier and Álvaro Palacios, before Priorat meant anything to the outside world. Clos Erasmus, her estate wine, became the region's first 100-point wine. Laurel is the second wine: named for the English translation of Daphne, sourced from younger vines on the estate's Aubagues, Socarrats, and Guinarderes parcels, all on llicorella slate at 375–450 meters above Gratallops.
The 2021 is a cooler-vintage expression — fresher and more structured than prior years. Wine Advocate gave it 96 points. Fermented with native yeasts and aged 18 months across neutral French oak, large-format tanks, and clay amphorae. Biodynamically farmed since 2004. Decant at least one hour.
