Pico Island rises from the Atlantic to become Portugal’s highest peak, its vines growing in currais — handbuilt basalt enclosures that protect the plants from ocean winds while trapping volcanic heat. The Cooperativa has worked this UNESCO-listed landscape since 1949.
“Terras de Lava” captures the island’s defining character: saline, mineral, and austere in a way that only volcanic Atlantic viticulture produces. Stainless steel throughout, four months on fine lees.
