    Darioush Khaledi was born in Shiraz, Iran — the city whose name the grape carries — and built this estate as both a wine venture and a cultural declaration. The Persepolis-inspired winery on Silverado Trail is the most explicitly Persian address in Napa Valley.

    The 2021 vintage delivered small-berried, thick-skinned Syrah from a drought-stressed season — naturally concentrated, with firm structure and critics landing between 92 and 94 points across three publications. Drink now with a 30-minute decant, or hold through 2032.
