First aging in heavily toasted new Gascon oak; a second maturation in new Gascon oak deepens the richness. The concentrated nose leads with caramel and cacao — the palate echoes that cocoa note into toffee and espresso before drying to walnut, clove, and a hint of apricot. Wine Enthusiast 95 pts.

Oldest Maison d'Armagnac, founded 1838 in Nogaro. Now run by fifth-generation Virginie and Benoît Hillion — the estate barrels 90% in Gascon oak from the nearby Southwestern forests, giving the spirit its signature spice over Limousin.
