Domaine Bernard Fleuriet 'Cote de Marloup' Sancerre 2023 750ml
Domaine Bernard Fleuriet 'Cote de Marloup' Sancerre 2023 750ml
FRANCE : LOIRE VALLEY : SANCERRE
BIODYNAMIC : Sauvignon Blanc
MED-BODIED, PEACH, MEYER LEMON, CHALKY MINERALITY, NO OAK
Côte de Marloup is the estate's founding vineyard — planted in 1991, the same year Bernard Fleuriet established the domaine, on 10 centimeters of terres blanches clay-limestone over solid bedrock. Shallow soils, steep southwest exposure: the constraint is the point.
Demeter biodynamic since 2021, certified organic since 2013. In the cellar: whole-bunch pressing under nitrogen, native yeast fermentation in concrete eggs, no sulfites added during élevage. The 2023 is one of Sancerre's more generous recent vintages — warm enough to build stone-fruit weight without trading away the chalk-and-citrus tension the appellation is built on.
PAIRINGS :
| Fresh chèvre | the classic Loire match — chalk meets chalk, acidity cuts through the tang |
| Grilled oysters | mineral-on-mineral; Sancerre's chalk register bridges straight to the shell |
| Herb-roasted halibut | lean white fish lets the wine's citrus and mineral carry the plate without competition |
