Domaine Buisson-Charles 'La Vigne de 1945' Meursault 2022 750ml
FRANCE : BURGUNDY : MEURSAULT
ORGANIC : Chardonnay
MED-BODIED, WHITE STONE FRUIT, LEMON CURD, WHITE FLOWERS, MINERAL, NEUTRAL OAK
Les Pellans sits just below Charmes Premier Cru, on the border of Puligny-Montrachet — a lieu-dit of limestone marl soils and, in this case, vines planted in 1945. Buisson-Charles has bottled this old-vine parcel separately since 2015; the vine age gives it a dimension of concentration and grip that the domaine's regular Vieilles Vignes doesn't quite reach.
No new oak, no fining, no filtration. Eighteen months in fully neutral barrels and then straight to bottle — the winemaking gets out of the way. The 2022 vintage was a strong year for Côte de Beaune whites: warm enough for full ripeness, with the vine age and the terroir doing the rest.
PAIRINGS :
| Roast chicken with herb cream sauce | richness on richness; tarragon echoes the wine's floral mineral edge |
| Lobster with drawn butter | classic white Burgundy match; the butter amplifies the creamy mid-palate |
| Aged Comté | the regional pairing — nutty, earthy character ties to the wine's depth |
