Domaine de Fontavin is a family estate in Courthézon, in the heart of the southern Rhône. Hélène Chouvet manages the property as the seventh generation of her family to grow vines here — the estate has been 100% certified organic since 2011, a commitment made for land stewardship long before it was a marketing point. The Côtes du Rhône vineyards sit in Le Gres, Saintes Vierges, and Les Sauvines: rocky, well-drained soils identical in character to those feeding the estate's Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is vinified entirely in tank — no oak, no modulation. What you get is the terroir, the vintage, and the fruit.
