Domaine du Vieux Lazaret is the largest estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape — 100 hectares across 35 separate parcels, farmed by the Quiot family for over 275 years. That footprint spans all three of the appellation’s major soil types: rounded galets (the iconic pebbles that store heat and radiate it back through the night), sandy terraces, and clay-limestone. The blend draws from all of them.
The 2023 vintage ran an unusually long harvest — mid-August through late October — with Grenache and Mourvèdre performing especially well in the heat and producing wines of smooth tannin and elegant profile. Wine Enthusiast 92 pts: “A deep nose of blackberry, strawberry, cassis, and abundant rose aromas... the midpalate reveals lively spices and white pepper that awaken flavors of white strawberries and juicy red licorice. Delicious and approachable in its youth, this wine benefits from a good decant.”

| Wild boar ragu | the wine’s body and spice hold up to game; a natural pairing in Provençal cooking |
| Roasted duck with olives | rich, savory, herbal — the garrigue notes tie everything together |
