'Les Charmes' is a wonderful example of classically styled Pouilly-Fumé — richer in texture than most Upper Loire Sauvignon Blanc, built from 45-year-old vines planted on limestone-clay and silex soils. Native yeast fermentation in stainless steel is followed by extended aging on the lees, first in stainless and then in cement, building weight and texture without masking the wine's signature stone-and-smoke character.
Lilian Baudin has helmed this 1685-founded family domaine since 2012, farming by lutte raisonnée and standing by indigenous yeasts that give each vintage its own personality.
